Bushwacker Paintball Safety Rules
*Safety is the highest priority at Bushwacker Paintball Games. Failure to follow these safety rules can result in immediate ejection from the field.
1. Critical Safety Rules
- ●Masks On at All Times: Never remove your goggles or mask while in the playing area or shooting range. Lifting it even briefly can lead to serious injury or blindness.
- ●Barrel Covers: When you are not in an active game, a barrel blocking device (barrel sock/sleeve) must be secured over the marker's muzzle to prevent accidental discharge.
- ●Safety Mode: Markers must be kept on "Safe" and fingers off the trigger when in neutral or staging areas.
- ●No Blind Firing: You must always look at your target while shooting. Firing around corners or over bunkers without looking is strictly prohibited.
- ●Velocity Caps: All markers must be chronographed (speed-checked) to fire below a specific limit, typically between 280 and 300 FPS (feet per second).
2. Game Play & Elimination
- ●A Valid "Hit": You are eliminated if a paintball breaks on you or any equipment you are carrying (including your marker, hopper, or pods) and leaves a mark—usually the size of a quarter.
- ●Splatter Does Not Count: If a ball hits a nearby object and sprays paint on you, or if the ball hits you but does not break (a "bounce"), you are generally still in the game.
- ●Calling Yourself Out: When hit, immediately yell "Hit!" or "Out!" and raise your marker or hand above your head to signal neutrality.
- ●Dead Men Don't Talk: Once eliminated, you may not provide information, hints, or instructions to teammates still in play.
- ●Paint Checks: If you suspect you were hit but can't see the mark, yell "Paint Check!" A referee will check you; you are considered neutral (cannot shoot or be shot) during the check.
3. Conduct & Etiquette
- ●Surrender Rule (Mercy Rule): If you get within a close distance of an opponent (often within 10 feet), you should offer them the chance to surrender rather than shooting at point-blank range.
- ●No Physical Contact: Pushing, shoving, or hand-to-hand combat is never permitted.
- ●Respect the Referee: Referees' calls are final. Arguing with a referee can result in penalties or ejection.
- ●No Wiping: Intentionally wiping off a paint hit to stay in the game is considered cheating and usually leads to severe penalties.
- ●Field Paint Only (FPO): Bushwacker Paintball requires you to use paintballs purchased on-site to ensure they are high-quality, safe and biodegradable.
- ●No Shooting Animals
4. Prohibited Items
- ●No Outside Paint: Unless specified, do not bring your own paintballs.
- ●No Ground Paint: Never pick up paintballs from the ground, as dirt and moisture will jam and damage the marker.
- ●No Alcohol/Drugs: Zero tolerance for being under the influence.
- ●No Non-Paintball Weapons: Knives, real firearms, and unauthorized pyrotechnics are strictly forbidden.
